We use Dropbox Business throughout our organization. We build templated apps for third-party clients and the work that we do requires the creation and storage of a high volume of creative assets. Dropbox Business gives us a central storage location that our whole team can easily access. Everyone has visibility into our Dropbox and no one has to keep large design files on their local drives.
  • Ease of use - Dropbox provides a simple interface that most team members and clients are already familiar with.
  • The ability to have Dropbox folders accessible from Finder makes it seem like your cloud storage is local but you don’t take up space on your hard drive.
  • Dropbox makes it easy to share files with anyone.
  • Initial setup of the Dropbox app has been tricky for some of our less tech-savvy team members.
  • It’d be great to have the ability to create a custom link for assets/folders instead of just having the randomly generated url.
Dropbox Business provides a simple and cost-effective way to store and share files. It’s especially helpful for teams who create larger files (raw design files for example) and for teams who often need to share large files with people outside the organization. It also saves a lot of time since multiple people can have access to the same folders. I don’t even have to send my team a link to an asset; I can just tell them it’s in Dropbox and they know where to find it.

I think most teams would find this tool to be valuable. The only scenario I can think of where it is less appropriate is for teams who just don’t have many files to store.

[Dropbox Business] is used as an enterprise document storage platform, by all of our organization. Provides a secure cloud storage platform accessible over multiple devices including laptop and mobile. Accessed via Single Sign On and provides the necessary assurance of being a secure platform approved internally for use by the organization.
  • Document sharing with external parties.
  • Accessible over various devices so handy if you don't have your own machine, as long as you use Single Sign on and 2FA.
  • Co-editing of documents is a great feature.
  • Sometimes it can feel a lesser experience when accessing Dropbox Business through windows explorer compared to web access. Creating parity between the two so it looks the same would be an improvement but I would imagine it's designed more to access straight from a browser.
As an enterprise tool it's excellent and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Provides the tool for securely storing your documents and the speed of accessing the documents is really good too. There are occasions whereby sending large files over email isn't always possible and some organizations have a restriction on file sizes, therefore sharing a document or several via a dropbox link makes things much easier and allows a convenient and simple workaround to achieve access.

We use it across the organization. It is a good backup with history support and helps me easily share content with different team members in my organization and/or clients.
  • It has top-notch security, which is highly appreciated by my clients.
  • The history feature saved us numerous amounts of time from re-doing work.
  • Ability to track who made changes to a document, and comment on it helped us with keeping content organized and avoiding conflicts.
  • Recently we started integrating Dropbox into other product management and communication tools such as Slack and Monday. Works really good.
  • Once we had a major problem where one of the employee accidentally deleted lots of data and had to restore. It appears that this mechanism work much less effective than restoring a group of files. Eventually it took Dropbox about 2 months with resolving the issue, and us additional 2 weeks of cleanup afterwards.
  • Dropbox is getting very expensive and there are today some alternatives that have better price to value ratio.
It is very good for small organizations or very large organizations. Everything in between may have problems with the sheer cost of maintaining the users' costs. Also, it is not recommended if your company has a huge amount of data as currently, Dropbox lowered the amount of storage they're offering for small businesses.

Dropbox Business is used is my business unit as our major cloud file storage platform. It is secured , accessible across different mediums ( mobile and computer) , and it integrates with a host of third party applications deployed in my organization.
For me, I see Dropbox Business as more than a file storage platform, I see it as a workspace where efficient collaboration takes place.
  • Integration with major third party software applications.
  • Easy accessibility from anywhere.
  • Secured platform.
  • At the moment, Dropbox Business does not offer support for an in-built spreadsheet.
  • Dropbox Business document creation tool - Paper, lacks an effective spell check feature.
Dropbox Business is well suited for file sharing.

Dropbox Business is well suited for collaboration between multiple people, by using Dropbox paper.

It is ideal for on-the-move usage, due to the availability of a smartphone application on android and iOS.

We use Dropbox Business for all of our important files that required shared access. Internal employees, customers, and other 3rd parties all have varying levels of access to files in our Dropbox Business account. It makes it easy to share photos with creative teams, spreadsheets with wholesale customers, files for download to retail customers, and so on.
  • User and group permissions are straightforward and easy to use
  • Creating a link to share files takes no time at all and is easily revoked
  • Web and desktop apps work seamlessly
  • Smart Sync and Selective Sync allow you to save hard drive space by selecting what you need to sync
  • They need to fix the ._Filename.doc (or any other file type) issue on the web version when syncing from Macs.
Any business that needs to sync files and create shareable folders should consider Dropbox Business. We once "lost" hundreds of files because we didn't set our employee permissions properly, and someone accidentally deleted an important folder from their desktop. The Dropbox support team worked with us to figure out the day and time this happened and then rolled back our account to fix the issue. It feels good to know even when we mess up. Our files are still safe and accessible.

Dropbox Business is used across all verticals in my organization. It is a one-stop solution for file storing and sharing. It is very flexible and stable when it comes to transferring large size files and documents. From the point of view security, it provides a great platform to store proprietary information using encryption key security. Such features are critical in helping organizations to trust and migrate exhaustively to cloud storage like Dropbox Business. Smart sync feature in the Dropbox Business allows you to sync and autosave files from your desktop to the cloud. This way, an auto backup is created the moment you start working on a file. Dropbox Business allows you to add members and share your folder with others. Dropbox Business integrates well with enterprise software, where information collaboration can take place across different software.

  • Collaboration is very fast and secured.
  • Document storage is seamless with auto arrange. Folder views are very graphical, and navigation is easy.
  • Dropbox Business mobile phone app needs continuous updates, and the app only works after update.
  • No traceability or tracking logs, this is a major issue.
Dropbox is an excellent channel for file sharing and collaboration. We share files across many verticals, and dropbox is excellent for that purpose. Very effective file encryption for security works well when you have more than 800 users using the channel at the same time. Auto-sync is a great feature. Your desktop client syncs and backups your files daily. Working with Dropbox with anything other than your laptop is a big challenge. The smartphone app is hard to use, very frequent updates that lead to disruption in sync and file share. File previews are not good, very blurry, and hard to read. Also, no tracking logs to keep a record of the file transfer.

We use Dropbox both for occasional internal file storage, external file delivery to clients, as well as integration with ebook reading applications as a convenient way to load EPUB and PDF books into an app. For internal file storage, we do not use it very much. We use it more for delivering assets to clients. And, finally, we have Dropbox integration into our applications which allows users to easily import ebooks.
  • Block-level sync and sync customization options.
  • Easily manage shared folders.
  • Cost is higher than some competitors for similar service.
  • Not as many third-party integrations as some competitors.
It is well-suited when security is a priority, as it is highly secure. It is also well-suited when you have a higher budget and need a more robust featureset than some of its more affordable competitors. Given its market share, it is also appropriate to use Dropbox where you have a wide array of clients, because chances are, many of them will already be using it.

Dropbox Business has been used with my company to share assets for multiple brands of ours both in house and third parties. A lot of third parties share their information to our in house team which makes it very easy to access and download even though they are in different countries and different time zones. It is very easy to use and very accessible.
  • Accessibility
  • Easy To Use
  • Mac and Desktop Friendly
  • Sometimes long load times for big files
Dropbox Business is well suited for companies that have a lot of large files in different formats because it allows 2TB. Once you share folders with others you never know how many files they are putting in as well, but I have never had to worry about space with Dropbox Business.

We use Dropbox Business for our construction jobs. From bidding to throughout the project. This enables us to share drawings, and documents without the need to buy NAS devices for all our job sites. We use the file request feature to get files from our subs and owners without the need of them also having a Dropbox account.
  • Dropbox Business makes file sharing with those outside of the company much easier, especially larger files or even folders.
  • User management is quite easy with dropbox.
  • It is easy to get files from people outside the company.
  • Sub folder sharing is still wanky. It should be easier to share a folder within a folder and to have a share hierarchy.
  • Updating should be easier for companies that use a software restriction policy. Even with exceptions we need to use a third party software deployment solution to keep our dropbox clients updated.
  • Single Sign On should be easier to find when logging in on the mobile and desktop applications.
When sharing non-sensitive documents it is well suited. If you are not sharing financial, medical or personal data Dropbox is a great tool. However, if you are using Dropbox in those scenarios there is really the need for third-party plugins to give more control and governance around the data. Third party tools will scan documents and make sure they are not being shared inappropriately and even further encrypt sensitive data.

We use Dropbox across our organization as the single storage solution for all files, folders, and media. As a company running over 100 events worldwide per year, being able to access, share and collaborate on documents on the go is crucial. Dropbox handles versioning brilliantly while notifying users when others are viewing/changing the same file.
  • Versioning - specifically preventing versioning from happening. five copies of the same excel spreadsheet are ultimately useless!
  • File Requests - ability to have external parties load files directly into folders of your choosing. Cuts out the middle man and saves a significant chunk of time and bandwidth
  • Dropbox Paper - A great collaboration and note taking tool. Getting better every month
  • Support is very poor! Really hard to get hold of someone, support only knows the very basics and can't really help troubleshoot there and then. Everything just gets escalated. Thankfully we don't need it too often
  • Permission levels aren't as granular as box.com
Dropbox is great as a cloud-based file server, giving rich functionality above and beyond what any on-premise solution can offer. I think for those companies who require greater levels of regulatory compliance there are going tobe some gaps that it doesn't fill, but it has to be the solution of choice for any startup.

We use Dropbox in multiple Departments at my organization. Currently, my team and I use Dropbox for projects our business contracts out as well as using it for transferring our weekly sermons to Vimeo. We have revolving projects with contracts that consistently have new assets going into Dropbox for our contractors as well as finalized files coming back to us through Dropbox. The ability to sync Dropbox to our computers makes the whole process much simpler!
  • My favorite thing about Dropbox? It's simple. No 5 step process to get things where I need them to go, just drop it in the box.
  • Shared Folders. I like that if I share folders with other people on my team that it doesn't take up space on multiple accounts.
  • So far I have no complaints with Dropbox. My use of it is basic file sharing as well as uploading/downloading, just on a large scale. Things have always run efficiently which is why I continue to use it!
In my experience, I think Dropbox is extremely well suited for file sharing when working on collaborative projects. It removes the headache of "sending" files through third party systems or using external hard drives. You get updated files the moment a contractor makes adjustments. It is great for storage but I wouldn't recommend it to store high security information.

Basically, I use Dropbox to save work-related files privately on the cloud. I think it's one of the safest options. Other colleagues in the company also use Dropbox (a few also use Box, me too 100% for work) to save files in the cloud.
As most of the work happens online a tool like Dropbox helps in working in a collaborated manner. It enables me to give and receive feedback on files etc.
  • It works very well for sharing folders
  • Seamless way of writing comments and posting reviews
  • It also has good amount of storage for a middle size company
  • Great way to do do file recovery and to check version history
  • It gives a great overview of the activity per staff member on a timeline
  • Dropbox can apparently increase the limit on the users who can potentially use the platform
  • The fact that online editing needs a Microsoft account is often cumbersome
  • A small point but the free trial needs payment information
If you are a medium or large size team, dropbox for Business would help you in collaborating within the teams and will also provide different features in order to make the work seamless (for instance features like user management, version history, unlimited deletion and a suite collaboration tools. One thing I really like is If you operate a non-profit organization or own a very large enterprise, Dropbox offers a discounted rate which is always great.

We use Dropbox as a collaborative file-sharing tool between the advertising agency, our clients and our third-party vendors. It makes the sharing of sensitive information as well as large files simple and contained with easy file and user management as needed. We also use it as a backup solution for some of our working files, allowing some employees to work from home or otherwise access working files while out of the office.
  • Dropbox, at its core, offers a very easy to use file sharing service. It does a fantastic job of making the files you upload to the platform easily accessible from all manner of devices and operating systems at the click of a button.
  • Simple user and permissions management allow my team to control how, when and by whom files are seen, downloaded and/or shared.
  • Syncing between devices is seamless, allowing my team members to work from home or while on a business trip, never separated from the files they need.
  • It's meant to be used as a file-sharing and collaboration service, but often we would like to use it as a public resource for file sharing. While technically possible, it's not a friendly environment and there are no options to brand the environment.
  • When dealing with very large galleries or files, sometimes Dropbox will require you to log in with an account or the software application to download the file. When we work with clients who don't have an account or don't know how to use the service, this creates an issue. We would rather be able to download any and all size files and folders.
  • As a premium user, it would be nice to have direct access to the support team, rather than have to go through several channels (usually sales) to get immediate customer or technical support.
Dropbox for Business is fantastically well-suited as a file sharing and collaboration tool, as a file management and backup tool, and as a platform for creating direct access to files on multiple devices and operating systems. It is less so for a public file directory, or other means that would require file access by users who are not defined as other users or team members.

Dropbox was used by teams to share files. We are a virtual company so it helped us reduce emails and keep things centrally located.
  • Dropbox is easy to use.
  • It is widely used, most of our users already used it and needed only minimal training.
  • This is not unique to DropBox but all file sharing apps. I think that they should team up more and allow sharing between different systems on the web.
It comes down to price for most small businesses. Be sure you are comfortable with the costs. The features are easy to use but if you have servers and plenty of storage in your office you probably don't need it. There are ways to make your files accessible without an online service.

Dropbox is a great tool for sharing company and/or personal files. It allows users to create a file and folder structure and then sync it to the cloud. Cloud containers is the big one here as well as restrictions and limits which brings a full resolution on how to access stored data. Another big point is collaboration and how it integrates users, files, storage and time.
  • You will never lose a file.
  • Use it on any device, be it a computer, mobile, tablet, etc.
  • Simplify sharing, share with anyone.
  • Way more productivity than you can imagine.
  • MS Office 365 integration.
  • User controls and permissions.
  • Each device can be associated with either a user’s own personal Dropbox account or the Business account, but not both.
  • Integrate client-side encryption of data, even as an option, so we don’t have to go “third-party”.
  • Create a real “Enterprise Dropbox” offering with real IT integration and content controls.
  • No built-in hybrid storage functionality.
  • Limited Management interface.
Unlimited file recovery and version history is great and very useful. On a separate note it's not possible to convert an existing shared folder into a team folder, this should have a workaround. Not the most expensive solution, Dropbox for Business is not cheap either. The admin features should make the service easy to manage.

We use the Dropbox for Business in the software development department to store design documents, meeting documents, software documents, database backups and software backups. We also use this service to share certain documents with clients and third party companies.
  • The easy access from any device to your documents, e.g. you have to go to an on-site meeting and you have everything you need from your tablet.
  • It's easy to use for every type of user, not just for computer savvy, e.g. the customer support department uses it to save case related documents like pictures and notes.
  • It's handy to have folder permissions per user, e.g. our CEO has some private folders for him with investors which are not company wide accesible.
  • Overall is perfect as it is. We can rely on their servers being up and running all the time, adding more features is not necessary for us.
Dropbox for Business is well suited for meeting documents and backups, maybe not that appropriate for database backups because there can be a privacy issue for some clients.
